Thumbs up Gatekeepers

Just watched the whole series. Could've been better, but definitely good. The last 5 or so episodes were EXCELENT. I don't hear much about this series though. Who else has seen it.

Anything starring the lovely Kawasumi Ayako as its female lead has to be at least good.

Hmm, that one looks like a very sombre and humor free sequel to its prequel.

I heard from somewhere that there are lesbian elements in Gatekeepers 21. (this may be true as 3 of the 4 main characters are females )

Although the mecha were a big part of the plot, I would rather there not be any at all. Just my opinion.

The story was fresh enough not to need any mecha to begin with. But oh well.

I agree, the mechs seemed totally out of place some time. I got used to them but never really liked them, I wished they would just fight as normal people.

Without those intrusive mechas, the Gatekeepers are basically akin to X-Men minus the mean spirited and belligerent angst. Hey, that's nice.

Yup...seen it. One of my more favourite animes. Who else thinks Kageyama Reiji is the coolest badass in animedom? Love the opening too (Asu No Egao No Tame Ni).
For some reason, the series really reminds of Sakura Taisen. Maybe because of the number of parallels (one guy many girls, double life)

ps: Fei-chan ha kawaii desu!!!
