Animefringe = good, so why is there so little post here!

Why isn't the Animefringe forum full of discussion on this great e-zine?

I think more people should just ranndomly go to forums, ala me thats how i discovered Animfringe last month.

Anyway Aprils issue is great, reading it atm. Nice to know a new Patlabor movie is coming up!

Also nice to read the StormRiders review on volume one i might try to get that as i enjoyed the movie.

Curious, Wolfpac are you like some advertiser for Animefringe on AB?

Well apart from you I was the only one on Animeboards actually reading Animefringe (well it seemed like it anyway)
Animefringe started out as a partner to Animeboards. And when at the time mods, Adam Arnold and Steve Diabo (Kaneda) saw that I was their most loyal customer, they asked eva2000 to make me mod of their forum because they didn't have the time to do it because of Animefringe. So it's because of them that I actually became a Mod. Not eva2000 and the Mod squad, Adam Arnold and Steve Diabo (Kaneda).
Anyway, when Animefringe dropped Animeboards because of personal reasons there forum got stuck in the deep dark depts of Animeboards, never to be seen again. I use to make monthly topic, but because no one responded, I stopped. So I'm still mod here but because the people of Animeboards don't know what reading is, they don't read Animefringe

I hope that helps orochi X.

What / Where is anime fringe?

Never mind, I found the web site.

Hmmm! Looks decent. Why no discussion of it???

Okay, another thread that's been dead for so long, but I need to post this to clear any confusion...

At some point in 2000, Animefringe teamed up with Animeboards so we could have a forum posted here. The problem Steve and I spent so much time working on the issues that a forum wasn't at the top of our priorities. It also didn't help much that Animefringe was primarily a webzine based out of North America and these boards are based out of Australia. That isn't much of a concern anymore as releases are pretty much released pretty close to each other now. But at the time, that was a big problem for us.

Needless to say in 2002, Steve had a friend with X-Forums, which hosts a few webcomic forums and such. Holly was our editor at the time and she was big into X-Forums as well, so we made her the mod there and things flurished.

Eventually, Holly moved on and the forum became somewhat inactive. I mean, Animefringe puts out monthly issues. That doesn't exactly bread a community. So it's not hard to see why we a forum never really clicks. You need constant updates to have constant visitors. ^_^
