Do you have to complete a whole WU before being registered as a user?
That might already be the case before I get a response though...

a response ? you don't get any emails about joining.... all you have to do is complete a WU and later check http://folding.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/...tailed?q=10567

How long does it take to do a Folding WU on say an AMD XP 2100+?

check which protein you're working on from http://folding.stanford.edu/psummary.html as the more credits a protein has the longer it takes to complete

Nope, min's. My box was generally slow. Sometimes it would just lag crazy (my friends Win98 box did the same thing actually. Think it catched a virus? My brothers Win XP box didn't.. mayby a drive conflicting since it only was on Win98 box's?? don't remember updating any drivers though).
It's down to 4 min's 75sec's per frame now ..and it continues to drop. The curent WU is worth 2 credits.
