Kawaii father and baby

Well here's my favorite character to write and draw for--Simian and his baby girl. Whatcha think? Any good?

You've improved greatly since the first drawings you posted here, still a few bugs left though; you still have that weird, puffed up hair - I don't think people have that much volume without an afro *_*;;. Also; look at the difference between his torso and neck, one strong-ish and the other one frail. I also think you've made him a bit too broad shouldred for his frame. Ahh! His hand's lose - it doesn't seem to be attached to his wrist. I'll change to the baby now; the nose's out of perspective, it's placed too far to the left. Anyway; I hope you'll keep on drawing and post them sis.

Once again not much that Nulani didn't point out..~_~;; *Adjusts non-existant glasses* Simian appears to be a quarter back...O.- Last I saw he was not. Go team!

You need a tiny bit of practice with the folds in clothes (The bottom of his sweater to our right) but that's a pretty hard area to lots of people..
Well, I really can't think of anything more to say..Except you've gotten better since you started drawing! ^ ^ *Looks at old notebooks full of Rina's drawings* Practice makes perfect (Not really! Heh there is no perfect!) *Tail sways happily* More drawings!!

As mentioned by others, his thin neck stands out a little and his shoulders are too straight (they should dip a little bit in an angle going downwards from the neck out).

Other than little proportional and perspective things it's okay. Nice job with the kid too

If you're having alot of trouble getting rid of smudges from things you've rubbed out, you can either a) as vegita mentioned, draw lighter or b) buy lighter pencils which rub out more easily. This will leave your work looking alot cleaner too and save you from rubbing out things too hard drawn.

Forgot to add: And as mentioned by the others, you have have improved alot since your earlier work

Look ma! I'm on line!! I hope you look at this soon, Rina! post more stuff for me to look at while I'm at my parents' house..! *Wags tail* That IS a great picture..next time you draw anything just watch out how big you make the clothes they wear or they'll look like they play for the 49ers! ^_-

Yeah, his hand's a bit thin and disconnected. Also either the nose or mouth of the baby is too far out.

What's wrong with puffy hair? I always draw my characters with puffyish hair....

I don't see anything wrong with puffy hair either...I mean, I know what Nulani is talking about because Rina used to draw hair not puffy but too big off the head. I think she doesn't have a big-head problem ("Whyyy's his head so big..? WHY IIIS his heeeead so big???" -Gir) anymore and the hair is a bit puffy but it looks kawaii. And I agree about the hand, she did too before she scanned it! ^_^

If I don't draw the head too big, I draw the body too big--baka!!!! lol, yeah I tend to make puffy hair--I've seen sorta the same thing in other animes.. (maybe if I just tried to reduce how high it goes on the head). My hands suck!!!! LOL I can't draw hands. I'll never be as good as you, Vejita-chan.

I atualy ike it. It's simple, it's cute,with an adorable baby. I watch very limited anime so I don't know who this character i at all.

The only thig I have to say is that when you draw, do a draft first, and press down on the pencil lightly, so when you erase it'll come out better, and you won't ave a lot of outlines ^_^ but othr than that

smiles!!

Hey, if it came out hw you want it, then that's good- but thee is ALWAYS room for improvement, which is something I try to do everyday on my artwork ^_^.

I have to say I've never heard of Simian, so I don't have a reference. I will say except for his left hand looking disjointed (or is he double-jointed?), I like it (including the hair (isn't that an anime standard?). Also, lack of colour is always nice IMO.

Somebody else replied to this--hehe, thanks guys. Btw, Simian is my character (copyrighted too!! No steal!) I'm actually gonna write a series of books about him--yeah that hand sucks..gotta fix it. Thanks again btw.
