Death and Rebirth IS being released in the UK!!!!!!!!!!

I just went to http://www.mvm-uk.co.uk/ to see if any new anime news was there and I click on the Anime-on-Line.com link there which is there anime shop and what do I find? Death and Rebirth is being released!!!! What makes it stranger is the fact that the series hasn't even be released in the UK yet, only place you can see NGE in the UK is on Sci-Fi channel. Here is the cover fo the UK release. On a side not what makes it funnier is the site has called it Birth and Rebirth What a bunch of idiots!

Oh, I just looked at the video section, you can get NGE on video in the UK, I never knew that, I have't seen it in any shops though, I have seen Martian Successor Nadesico at my local HMV on video though, although I want it on DVD so I will import it.

Hmm..., I think I prefer the US cover..., I wonder if it will have subtitles...? Manga have an awful habit of only giving you dubs on DVD..., Perfect Blue, & GiTS had subs..., but Street Fighter the Movie only had a dub track track to it...,

NGE was released in the UK late 1996/early 1997..., & the series finished here in 1998.., so it's not really surprising that you haven't seen the series in the shops recently..., I don't think I've seen NGE for sale where I live for over three years now..., only the odd tape now & again.., if you want the UK release you generally have to make a special order for it, or go to a specialist comic shop.., like one of my RL friends had to do...,

Whoa, I never realised how bad you guys have it in the UK.

I also agree with Fiend, I don't like that cover.

Actually, El Hazard was available in the UK..., it was originally distributed in 1997-98 by Pioneer..., but since Pioneer closed their UK offices a couple of years ago.., the PAL version of the title is now out-of-production...,

All that cover is is just the upper left section of the normal Death and Rebirth Cover. With Kaworu's face faded in from the right.

Oooh the humanity! You poor guys. I'll have to come over there and bring all the R4 goodness that is Cowboy Bebop and soon to be Love Hina, Hellsing, Excel Saga, Beserk and the Eva boxset

Kerensky is right as well, it is just the upper left corner.

What region is the UK? I know that neally all Madman releases are Region 2 + 4 PAL releases. I can't believe that we get it better in Australia than in the UK!

Madman Australia are now releasing some very high quality anime. It is worth getting them even if you don't live in Australia.

oh beleive me you do

we're R2, and have about 20-30 anime title max on DVD (mainly very old stuff, and a lot of it is either sub or dub only).

We might be getting Eva TV series on DVD next year, likewise we're now starting to escaflowne on DVD (i suspect as dub ony).

Personally i've pretty much given up on waiting for DVD releases over here, if i want an anime now i'll order it from the U.S. or Australia if i can't find it locally.

There still no point in buying anime in the UK, why should I but it for 20 here when I can get it for roughly 13 from the USA? If they want me to start buying anime in the UK they better release the DVD's at 10 or I am buying else where.
