Y's

i just got the dvd the other day, its an anime based off an RPG, the series is pretty good, it actually feels like an actual RPG, and it reminds me of Lodoss war for some odd reason. thoughts anyone?

its kinda fast paced too, thats my only gripe with the series. like, first scene, Adol (the main character) is in a village, next scene, he's already deep within the dungeon...

Heh, I hated it when my DMs would whip the teams to new places quickly without any effort to add depth to the world we'd be in.

sure why not

first of all Y's is pronounced as Eas (kinda like East, but without the T). heres the plot, monsters started showing up in the continent of Esteria (formerly Y's), and the people are struggling to fight off the monsters. Meanwhile, in a different continent, Adol Christin is searching a way to get to Esteria, saying that "someone or something is calling me to the continent". low and behold, he finds a way to Esteria and finds out the story of Y's, so he sets out on a journey to find a way to get rid of the monsters, that is until he collects all six books containing secret writing on how to get powerful.

characters, well theres Adol the main character, he's just an 'adventurer', kinda like how Hiro is to Lunar 2 or Arc in Arc the Lad. the only other character i can mention without spoiling stuff is Sarah, she's the fortune teller in the first town they introduce when Adol gets to Esteria.

the animation reminds me of Berserk, although Y's was made in the late 80's or early 90's i believe

I liked Ys I+II. Yes, I felt like watching Record of Lodoss War again after viewing this. I'm a fan of the videogames and I think anyone who is will like this anime. I loved the ending theme song.
