Yawn. Vandread is one of those series that looks good to begin with then gets dull very quickly.
Makes a wonderful hentai manga though.

second stage ownes first stage, IMO. First stage is really setting the background up for Second Stage, which is why Movement Stage (re-edited movie-length version of first stage) is actually pretty good to get people hooked....

I just watched the OAVs (Movement Stage and Turbulence), and having watched all 26 eps, I found them rather of a letdown. It was like they compressed the 26 eps into 2 hours, just to get more money out of people. ^^
I do however see its potential for people who didn't see the whole thing. I'm planning to have my cousin see it. She hasn't seen almost all of Second Stage and has no time on her hands to do it in, so Turbulence would be OK for a look at the important parts.
