And while Cartoon Network USA is starting to show things worth watching: Cartoon Network Nordic is still showing crap that makes me, and everyone else, want to stab their eyes out.

Bah. Unfair.

I think it's spectacular. When I first saw the cards mentioning it I nearly choked.

And yes, the response of the...uninitiated will surely be interesting to witness.

Bah. Damn you! You dirty americans!

Well, actualy I'm glad for you all. Though I can already feel the presence of pseudo-intelectuals waiting in the darkness to annoy the hell out of me. IMHO FLCL is much more a show of feelings than a show for brainiacs. But this is not really related to the topic so I'll stop now and just say that I'm still happy that the series will get more exposure, despite my previously stated fears. More exposure = more readily available FLCL stuff.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Please's for the love of God do not let them get flcl, because you saw what they did to samurai x, so what do you think they will do to flcl. But still it will be on adult swim, but they will still cut things out, especially a lot the sex content in it.

Yeah you should know what I am talking about Schizm since you pay attention to that type of stuff a lot. But seriesly I mean it does not have a lot in it, but what it has in it will be cut out.

I don't think anything that could remotely be classed as 'sex content' is any worse than what I have already seen on Adult Swim.

I think the 'worst' bit would be Haruko in a towel sitting on Naota. Hardly 'sex content'.

Excellent! I have no problem with this, assuming it's true.

They could cut the variously few "offensive" scenes out and the anime would still kick ass.

As I have yet to watch the dub (I have it but am too scared), is there alot of cultural references that the general American cartoon viewing public might not get?

Actually, most of the cultural references translate pretty well in the dub.

Little should be cut, though some of the double-meaning style lines might be questionable. Either way, it will surely end up 98-100% intact.

It depends.

I think by now it is obvious a large segment of the American anime population watches Cartoon Network and has at least known of it for some time. So I'd say a significant portion would be completely at ease watching FLCL for the first time. But for the rest of the audience (which is probably a majority), I think they are in for the ride of their lives and confused as all hell.

Finally! I've waited for this one for a very long time! Yea... I hope they don't edit it to death though... makes me sad when they do. I can't stand watching a "cut" anime.

If the story cannot survive on it's own without the "sex content" then this FLCL probably blows.
