Heard a lot about this movie, and it just keep looking better!

HK action, anime, directed by QT... what more could you want? Gorgeous colossal soaring epic Lord of the Rings style wideshots, I guess... but you never know!

It sucks that the movie has been divided into two films... I still can't wait to see Volume one though...

The entire movie doesn't take place in Japan, it's just that one of the assassians lives there.

When I saw the preview of this movie in the theater, it made me roll my eyes.. Uma Thurman playing some kind of impossible action hero. Later, when I saw a TV commercial, it looked kind of interesting, like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, samurai style. And now that I think about it, it does sound like the plot is like something out of an anime.

yes, one of the inspirations is anime, but most of the stuff comes from samurai films and hong kon action movies.

saw it yesterday, anime style overboard bloodsprays are teh win

and this is the first time I've seen a "bajillion henchmen baddies vs The Hero" and it actually seem realistic

hats off? teeheeh

and the anime scenes were nice too, the story's oso tragic, but there's nothing worse than betrayers ><

i saw Kill Bill as well, AMAZING COOL nothing better than flying limbs!

also, i thought the whole backstory of Oren Ishii (the anime part) was useless, even thoguh it adds emotional depth to the characters...

A great movie. Needlessly gory and funny with lots of QT staples. I can see why they split it into two films though...3 hours of that would have been a little much.

...and is it wrong to totally want that pycho Go-go? Damn she was cute.
