Do you think it's best to make the Eva Live action movie a trilogy?

Unless there is some new info that popped up after I wrote this, I think that making this movie a trilogy. Personally I think that there is no way they can fit all the information, character and story development into on long movie. Its like trying to do all the Lord of the Rings trilogy into one movie and the Evangelion series is 26 episodes. I hope they make all the right decision or else it is gonna be destined for failure.

I agree, a trilogy is in order, there is far too much info pack into the story of evangelion, and I'm still surprised they fitted as much into 26 eps and into 2 feature films.

I'm still very skeptical on this movie, it's hard to turn paper in to real life, maybe a 3D animation(Like Re-Boot) would be easier to complete, but doing it with real actors who are not the same as the original characters, I see a major disaster coming. For the sake of all Evangelion fans, I truely hope this movie some how ends up better then the series, but I guess I could be living on false hopes here

<Side note> Noticing this little DBZ emoticon, WHY ARE THERE NO EVANGELION ONES! Maybe some one could make some little Zureul's cutting off Unit 02's arms or Unit 01 tearing Unit03 apart </side note>

If the first one is a hit, I can see it being span over a few more movies. The first movie could finish at Eva-Unit-01 having breakfast. The 2nd Movie could finish at the Karou Pez Popping scene. And the 3rd could just do the End of Evangelion.

has anyone actually heard about a trilogy? so far from what i heard it will be just one movie... yea, a trilogy would fit everything together better, but who knows...

As much as I love Evangelion.., I hope they just make one movie & be done with it..., a trilogy would do the series more justice.., but I'm tired of Gainax flogging what has been a dead horse for a long time now...,

I hope they just cancel this movie and be done with it. Or they make it, it becomes a failure and they decide never to make a live action version of a Japanese show again.

I can only see it being a trilogy, or possibly a quadrilogy. And I even made a little thing that I hoped the movies would be like. It's quite mediocre though. =/

First movie:
-Takes place of first five episodes, but grabs some later events and puts them in (introducing Asuka early, maybe?)
-Sets up most of the main characters
-Ends with a devastated NERV, but they are victorious against Ramiel (or some other angel)

Second:
-Introduce the rest of the main characters (Kaji, Asuka if they haven't done it already)
-A draining battle with an angel (intro)(which sets off Shinji's major depression), Zeruel (main battle), and ends with a hybrid of the "Hallelujah" angel and the DNA halo angel to debilitate/kill Asuka and Rei respectively, making it a sad ending. Maybe have the Rei clones at the end for a cliff hanger?
-Kaji dies in act 3
-Lilith is discovered by Misato, mystery deepens

Third:
-Episodes 24 --> EOE

I remember suggesting this months ago, but yeah I think a trilogy would be the best way to do it. That way it isn't all compressed and incomprehensible.

I reckon just a stupid James Cameron type movie. A single movie that is... they just have the fully rendered Eva's tear ---- up and maybe some scenes in between with some suspicious camera angles of the girls in plug suits who-are-really-actors-over-18-so-its-okay

I think it is best not to make the movie at all. But if it has to be made, then it should be two movies because 3 will just drag it out.

Only 2? that would be cutting it very short. I think the original evangelion series was cut short on details in some areas, I would have like to seen an eps. about the reason why Unit 04 dissappeared, who it's pilot was and what actually happened at the scene.

With Evangelion, you cannot drag it on unless over a 1000 part series like DBZ which is just tireless waiting for osme one to die.

I can see trilogy format being better than two movies for two reasons:

-More time to develop characters (which is imperitave otherwise it's just a mindless summer blockbuster with religious symbolism).
-Trilogies are all the rage these days and three movies would generate more revenue from movie-goers who are confident that the story will be resolved in the next two installments.

No need for a trilogy, just make the movie 3 hours long. There's no need to go through all the angels, too redundant and linear in plot, besides the real interesting part about EVA is character interaction and the conspiracy sub-plot anyway, combact scenes should be limited to a minimum until the third impact. EVA can be made into a LEGENDARY movie if done right, however, I have very little to no faith in Hollywood, I really think they don't have the proper mental and intellectual capacity to pull it off. Even if the right people get involved in artistic direction, marketing nazis will find a way to butcher it apart, that's the way it is.

I think they won't show the main ideas of Evangelion
they will make film about battels between Eva & Angels(if your saw the workshop art)
I think that after that movie the popularity of evangelion will fall down very much

i think the movies should be stopped, i know they'll suck and like mentioned before , they will cause people to hate Eva....although, if it does come out i guess i will hafta go see it either way...... I think Eva 3 will be in it, and he's badass.....
