Comic Party, worth the hype?

Hey I have been waiting for this show to come out over here for a few years now. I was just curious what everyone else thinks of it. Please don't give away any spoliers or that sort of thing just basicly what you thought of it and why. Right Stuf has been hyping this title to shreds it seems and I was curious as to if it lives up to it. Thanks in advance!

It's because it's the only anime that they have that's good. Kare Kano is done, and KO Beast sucks. If they don't do well with this, they could be hurt pretty bad. Fortunately/unfortunately, I won't be getting my hands on it anytime soon.

Besides, I think Cosplay Complex will fulfill my desire for hammy costumes and corny imitations of other anime chars.

Cosplay Complex is alright... I mean the humor is average, but the animation is top of the line (in my opinion). The show actually plays out like a dating game (for good reason )

I guess I haven't been paying attention lately, but I didn't realize CP had so much hype behind it. I recently ordered the first disc (it shipped today!) and when I watch it, it'll have been nearly 2 years or so since I last saw it.

Meaning what? The only thing I can remember is that I enjoyed it. Nothing great or spectacular, just a good watch. Solid comedy with a not-so-common plotline. That's about all I can remember. Regardless, I'm sure I'll enjoy it again.

I thought Comic Party was good to start off with but its yet another show that get ruined by a laboured romance plot line that drags the show down from being reasonably funny to amatuer drama.

Comic Party was pretty good when I saw it. I have to say "dont' believe the hype" and just watch it and judge for yourself.

As far as Right Stuff is concerned, they tend to overhype whatever hot title they have their hands on at the time... it's somewhat understandable considering they just wanna make sure they get their money back. It is somewhat risky putting money into a title that may only just "break even" as far as sales go. Some cases in point being Macross, KOR, and Irresponsible Captain Tylor. If they don't advertise and generate some excitement, no one would buy from em.

I suppose. Then again a company would wanna hype a title.

This is true I suppose. The majority of Right Stuf titles I have seen so far though I did tend to enjoy very much. As far as retaliers go though I tend to buy from Right Stuf and Right Stuf alone. I look around but they are the ones I first ordered from on the net and what not so maybe IM just kinda partal to them. Who knows? Also, I know that when ADV started out that is how they finaced a lot of their earlier titles. Once one cleared they used that money to get a bigger/better seriers. Or at least tried to. So you can't blame them for trying.

I finally read a bit of description on one of the RS flyers, and it looks like CP is just "Otaku no Video" made into a long series, but without the interviews. OnV didn't do anything for me, so I'll probably avoid CP as well...

It's about a young man who starts drawing a manga and thewn gets sucked into the world of Otakus, with everything from cosplayers, other manga artist, conventions and a pair of arrogant Otakus who are always criticizing other people's work.

I call it mainly animated marketing, they keep making references to other anime, especially To Heart.

Cosplay Complex was fun too.The lesbian pedophile was hilarious!
