I believe it was all made by Studio GONZO solely for Linkin Park. And it isn't just a clip: The whole shebang is animated by GONZO.

I also thought the style of the animation was somewhat similar to the animation from Kill Bill volume 1.

Not bad the music video though.

direction and most art design was made by park's own Joe Hahn, and yes, it is an entire video of their own original conception, that at least they call anime.

...becuase it was done by Gonzo.

Anyway, Tokyopop is supposedly working with Linkin Park to release a manga based on the music video.

that's real interesting, considering the Linkin Park video is animated by Studio GONZO while the animation in Kill Bill is by Production I.G and half the animation in Animatrix is by Studio 4C
[note: excludes "Final Flight.." (SQUARE USA), "Program" & "World Record" (Madhouse Studios), and "Matriculated" (DNA)].

definitely a good video though. i love the animation.
they should release it on DVD.

for cheap.

real cheap.

...

..because Linkin Park sucks.

btw, Dez...

I heard one review for their 2nd album said "I've got better things to do in life than listen to generic rock like linkin park."

I thought there first album was ok, now I wonder what the hell was I thinking....

I think the ideas were concieved by Hahn, but the animation was directed by Kazuto Nakazawa.

Nakazawa directed both the animated sequence in Kill Bill and Linkin Park's "Breaking the Habit" which would, I guess, account for some of the similarity.

Obviously not, if he reviews it for a living.

And if his genre for reviewing isn't rock, then his word isn't worth trusting.

Besides, how can Linkin Park be called "generic rock"? It doesn't even make sense. Linkin Park is alternative-nu metal-techno-thingymabober. Duh.
