And Evangelion did have fan service too. When Shinji tumbles over a naked Rei,what do you call that?Circumstantial nudity?

For some reason the fan service in Golden Boy seemed not offensive because it wasn't to be taken seriously. Same for Excel Saga and Puni Poemi

But, I found the fan service in Nurse Witch Komugi a bit too much. Examples http://www.weasl.net/w.php?wall=komugi

Fan Service ala Love Hina was OK, even though it was a bit contrived at times. It was just plain silly from time-to-time. Same for stuff like Tenchi Muyo, GXP and Chobbits

Well, to me, the Love Hina anime was tame when compaired to the manga. Even Love Hina Again failed to compair.

As for Shinji and Rei, No nudity unless you count Rei's but covered by her bed...

That was more like a parody of fan service -- thought it was very funny.

I hate fanservice in anime.

I got through 2 episodes of 'Airmaster' before I got too sick of it.
I got through a fair few episodes of Ikki Tousen, because it was developing into something interesting. But in the end, I couldnt stand it anymore.
I grit my teeth past Tenjou Tenge's fanservice, but its easier because in some cases its supposed to highlight how little the girls care about feminine things or something.

overall, to me, fanservice is like someone sitting beside me on the couch pointing out how unrealistic the movie is. Its a distraction from the purpose, and a reminder to not take any of it serious. If I cant take it serious, then why bother? I wont be thinking "wow, this is a really tense battle. I wonder who'll win" when the girl is clearly having her shirt and skirt torn off for the 50th time.

Anime just doesnt do it for me, and Im a little worried about those who do actually see that 14yo in her panties and think "mmm, Id like a piece of that".
