This is by far the dumbest thread topic I have ever seen.

To claim one voice actor would make an anime GREATEST without even watching a single image is just plain dumb and stupid.

Threads like this really makes one wonder about the level of intelligence and sanity of the original poster.

This has to be either a joke or a prank, otherwise it's REALLY RETARDED.
You need to chill out, man. Opinions are wonderful things until you start acting like a jerk. It would also help to wait until you get to know the posters on this forum before passing judgement against them on the basis of a handful of threads.

Regarding the anime, I'd like to see Jackson attempt this because he has such an iconic voice. Most of the time, however, I prefer hearing voices that I can't associate with other characters I've seen elsewhere. It's one of the reasons I'd rather listen to the Japanese language tracks and read the subs.

There's also going to be a live action movie for this, but I haven't heard any more news on the anime yet.

I have to agree with you on this. I bothers me when they use the same voice actor in multiple animes. Plus actors you already know from other things. It feels like that character loses a little bit of there personality just cause you recognize the voice and accociate it with something else.

It should also be noted that I'm pretty sure RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan will be doing the score for this thus making it only that much awesomer.

From the trailer,it seems they went for the cheap scenario.Baby Sammy see people getting killed, grows up to be a badass samurai and kills a bunch of bad guys for some reason, probably related to the murderers who traumatized him.

oh well,Kenshin made it work, let's see how Afro Samurai does.I did notice the Spike TV logo, didn't think they'd start showing anime.

That "guy" is none other than Keith David, star of stage and screen and if he's in this, along with that RZA score I'm totally sold on this.

I'd like to point out that Sam Jackson is also listed as a Co-Producer for this anime and there's no word of a Japanese cast yet. I also read a press release that there's going to be a live action film in 2007 also staring Samuel L as #2.

And it is scheduled to air on both Spike TV and Fuji Television in November.

Caught the first episode of Afro Samurai, so POSSIBLE SPOILERS ahead okay.

Well that just oozed awesome. Reminded me of that dream scene in The Boondocks with Huey as a samurai, and to a lesser extent Samurai Champloo. Fight scenes kicked some serious ass, number two taking on those twenty odd guys was just wow, especially loved when he blocked the bullet which resulted in a shower of shrapnel killing everyone behind him. Very ultraviolent with limbs flying and blood gushing from every and anywhere. Story so far seems a tad basic, Afro's just out to seek revenge and take out number one and there's a handful of old geezers tailing him wanting to take him out for some reason.

Well four more episodes to go, can't wait.
