Not yet. Only 4 episodes have aired in Japan so far with the 5 episode this Saturday. As for the anime getting licensed, I'm not too worried about that. This is the type of anime that licensors would stay away from or take their sweet time to license it.

Ergo Proxy is licensed by Geneon. I'm not sure if it's official but seeing as how they have a hand in the production, it's inevitable that it'll become official eventually.

Not so fast my friend. Ergo Proxy as of right now isn't licensed yet.

If you say so...

AnimeonDVD
AnimeNFO
AnimeNewsNetwork

I don't do research regarding things of this sort and only rely on a handful of sites for information. These three sites make up the bulk of that "handful" which is why I'll go by whatever I see from them.

If only one site listed as such, I wouldn't state it as a fact but all three sites are one's I consider "reputable" and therefore I'll continue to believe it as licensed until there is something official stating otherwise.

Well I'll be damned....I apologize oppa. Man, this must have flown right over my head as I didn't even know this anime was licensed. So that means this anime was licensed before it even aired in Japan!?

No worries.

Given the dates listed, this was licensed well before it aired... almost a year ago (going by AoDVD's date). It's not the first time something's been licensed before it was aired but this is the earliest I've ever seen it done. I hadn't even heard about this anime until about four months ago

I wonder why this anime was licensed so quickly though? A year even before the first episode was released? Maybe they sensed a hit with this anime or something.

My guess is because it's by Manglobe, the same company that did Samurai Champloo. Given the popularity of that series and the style used in Ergo Proxy, it has "successful in America" written all over it.

lol and if you think of it that way the English thought way ahead of time "well ill be damned i bet opium would be a good hit in China". I dont think they just thought it would be good unless they put something into it just like the English who made an investment and sought it through. So really i think Geneon had something to do with its success.

BTW i am English so im not trying to be racist or anything its just an analogy, better yet an observation.

Just saw the 4th episode, they found proxy's corpse so not only did Vincent evade proxy attacks, he totally trashed proxy. Other than that this episode is mostly for introducing people on the outside as well as the environment they live in.

I know that from Vincents ability to survive the unsurviveable that he must be another sort of Proxy...It was a good episode and revealed a huge secret about the paradise he was living in.

Just finished up episode 4. It seems that Vincent Law is getting more and more interesting by the minute. I can't seem to figure him or the anime for that matter out. There's no question now that the anime is built around him.

All in all, though, there's nothing extraordinary in this anime... yet.

The mysteries could become incredible or they can just turn into rehashed stories... at this point, I can't say which.

Anyone else have a Dark City/Battle Angel/Rah Xephon/Truman Show/any other "this world is not the real/only world" moment? I think I had a new one every five minutes.
