Suikoden V

Anybody got this game and what are you impressions? I really hope it's better than IV..I think it will be. IV was such a letdown..that can't happen again.

Check out the IGN review. Says the game starts out slow but ends up with the best story/characters since the second installment.

Mine shipped today so I shall have it next week to enjoy

^That's exciting news to hear. I know Georg Prime is in the game and he's a badass.

I always thought Falena would be a kickass location for a whole Suikoden game. Strange religions, oppressive slave-holding monarchy...

Yeah, Falena is kinda mysterious. What about the other places that haven't been touched yet in the Suikoden games?

Any Suikoden game set in Harmonia would have to involve a major shakeup, like Hikusaak emerging from wherever he's been, a revolution staged by second or third class citizens, or some plot by the Howling Voice Guild. Given the cyclical nature of Hikusaak's True Circle Rune, I think Harmonia's too stagnant for anything big to happen there yet. Maybe for a distant Suikoden sequal or a series finale.

.....but I want it now!

Playing through V at the moment and I glad to report that the 'Suikoden charm' that was absent from IV is back!

The game is doing well to charm me with its characters which IV never did so it looks like after the worst game in the series things are back on track. *phew* I'd have to pay a visit to Konami if this one dived to, bury the franchise Konami and I'll bury you!

So you're saying that they improve ever since the last one that came out?

V is much improved. The Suikoden drama is back and main characters are expiring at incredibly inconvenient times again Gotta love Suikoden!

I am almost finished and it's a very good game..going back to it's roots. Like they said if it isn't broken don't fix it. Not to take away from 3..I loved Suiko 3..(except the battlesystem).
