Kyou no Go no Ni (Today in Class 5-2)

Anyone else check out the first OVA of Kyou no Go no Ni?

I read the one shot manga of this a while back, recommended by oppa in that Manga that should be read thread somewhere in the manga forum. It was enjoyable, along the lines of Azumanga Diaoh, just silly shorts involving school students.

The anime, well it was nice I suppose, but it didn't really do it for me. Maybe because I've read it all before? Or maybe the pacing? I mean I loved that whole collarbone short in the manga, but however it didn't translate as well into anime form.

I will keep following the series though, it's not like I'm following any other anime series at the moment. (But I'm sure that'll all change starting next month)

Damn, there's an anime? I've been so busy lately I completely missed it... of course, judging by your reaction, it doesn't do the manga justice but I suppooooooooose I *have* to check it out.... heh.

I forgot all about the blatant and rampant sexual innuendoes.

I'm glad the pacing is about the same. Manga to anime conversions of short stories tend to extend the pacing with filler moments or lengthy "paused" scenes which, in the end, only feel like things are dragging. Sure, all the stories seem really short this way but why not? They *are* short stories after all.

The comedy level is about the same. I never found the manga incredibly funny (though there were some LOL moments) and I get the same feeling from the anime. I'll keep watching it since these kids do provide some entertainment.

Had the second OVA sitting on my computer for quite a while, decided to finally get around to watching it.

Pretty much the same fare as the first OVA. Mildly amusing shorts and a lot of suggestive loli fanservice which irks me, I don't remember the manga having any of that at all, well not to the same extent as the anime.

Enjoyed the short where they tried to wake up Ryota and the one where they attempt to make Aihara laugh.
