XXXHOLiC - TV series

Huzzah hooray for CLAMP's XXXHOLiC TV series starting.

I love the manga so naturally I would start this series.

Nice animation, quite dig the opening and pacing is better then TRC. First episode, a bit average, it was different to the manga, as Mokona wasn't introduced to later when Syaoran and the rest of the TRC characters make an appearance, but second episode looks like it'll be closer to the manga with the ring.

Oh I love Yuuko.

I've just finished watching the movie and episode 1. I can honestly say without a doubt this is the weirdest anime that CLAMP has ever done. Everything from the story to the characters. When I first saw Yuuko in the movie, she looked real freaky. Small head, huge breasts, with a stick like figure. Most of the characters looked like tall stick figures as well. I was thinking for a second that CLAMP must have taken a page from One Piece or something.

I have a little gripe with the anime. Yuuko comes off as Miss know it all. What she says goes. She can say no wrong, which I found a little annoying, but I'll learn to deal with it. I think that's the most intriguing part as I'm not sure of her past or whatnot (I say this as I know there some people here whom already read the manga) so I'm looking forward. And poor Watanuki. He got suckered in so easily!! But I must admit that this anime and movie comes off a little bit DRY. Almost lethargic.

Anyways, I think I'm going to stick around and see how much weirder this anime can get. I can't wait for all the crazy damn CLAMP crossovers that were going to get. I just know it.

nvm this anime is awesome, BLACK MANJU! It is alot like Tsubasa Chronicle with the dimensional witch and Mokona this time is not the white manju that left with Suaron but the Black Manju that was left behind.

Those two series run parallel to each other and there is the odd crossover here and there with the two series where you see Syaoran and co. (TRC) as Yuuko for help.

Episode two, more faithful to the manga. Still some slight changes, in the manga Himawara is with Watanuki when the accident happens I believe she doesn't survive.

Preview for next episode has the persocom (Chobit) ears, and we should see more of Doumeki.

D:

That's how I've felt about this show so far. I'm going to stick with it to see how my favorite parts of the manga (volumes six through eight) look animated, but I don't expect they'll be as good as they should be.

The ring story had more impact when the woman died. Having her live takes away a lot of what makes Yuuko's shop so sinister.

Yah, the anime isn't very satisfying. I'd probably enjoy it a whole lot more if I weren't reading the manga, but still I'm going to keep at this series, it's not like I'm following much anyway.

Hark I double post!

Because I dig the opening theme that much I downloaded the promotional music video for it. For those who don't know the artist is Suga Shikao and the song's title is 19 Sai. I feel dirty after watching it, it's like amateur voyeur soft core pornography? Well at least there's some tasteful blurring of nipples and the crotch .., well the single comes out later this month so the video will suffice for now.

Ku - ku - ku - ku - ku ....

Well it's over, the series is finished. Okay sure there's still one more episode, the side story prequel but really episode 23 was the last one at heart.

It's been an on and off series for me. I forced my way through it only because I enjoy the manga. Most of the stories just weren't executed that well, pacing issues and animation quality fluctuated to and from each episode.

However I did enjoy the "final" episode, I think it was a great story to finish off the series. One of my favourites (another being the monkey hand), it's the one with the lady in the park, and surprisingly well done. Does it make up for the rest of the series? No not really. But I'm glad the series finished with a high note.

I wonder if there will a second season like they did with TRC? If so I do hope they cover the spider/eye story.
