Heh,I admit it's hard to understand at first, but there is a point to all this.We don't know much about what it is that Haruhi does to the world but since it's important enough to attract aliens, time travellers and espers we know it's big.

I think Kyon like spending time with the SOS brigade wether he admits it or not. Also Haruhi intrigues him.One point he has in common with her is that they both find regular school life boring and he saw something unusual in Haruhi. Also now he seems to have a crush on Asahina (who wouldn't?).

Watched episode 5....Again, WTF? In any case, I got the gist of it. It seems like with each episode, it just gets weirder and weirder. I understand a little bit of what Haruhi role is but it's somewhat hard to believe right now. I'll post back here when I finish the next five episodes.

Angst? More like unbound self-confidence.

Finished watching up to episode 10 a couple of days ago. Man, episode 10 by far was the best and most informative episode out of the series so far. Alot of things started to make sense and also a few surprises that completely flew by me. I think I'm starting to get a grasp on the story here.

It's pretty clear now that Haruhi has a HUGE influcence on what goes on around her. It seems like she can almost shape the world as she sees fit. Her own little playground so to speak. The people (Alien, Esper, and Time Traveler) are pretty much "supervising" her. Playing along with her probably be the better definition here. As for Kyon....it seems that he's the key to Haruhi "power" or he may be responsible for her awakening in some shape or form.

Hmm....even knowing that much I'm still left wondering what exactly will happen next. I can neither forcast nor predict what will happen which makes this anime pretty exciting.

I found out this anime just now. It looks highly original, the idea of a girl who's obsessed with aliens and is dead serious about it. So is this worth the hype or am I being fooled?

It's anything but original. Alot of random and crazy sh!t happens with no real explanation whatsoever. The viewer is forced to pay attention to each and every episode to piece things together. Also, it doesn't help that the episodes are shown out of order!

Overall, I say it's worth the hype so far as it's gotten me hooked, especially after watching episode 10. I felt like after watching that, I understood the anime alot more. Give this anime a try, you will definately enjoy it.

Well the plot sounded original. If it's just like every other anime, then I might just say screw it.

Yeah, I'd say this show is pretty original. I don't think the show is "random" or "unexplained"; it's a bit loopy and indirect, but there are answers for everything. Also, the mixed-up timeline of the show works incredibly well. I know some people are exasperated by it, but I don't know what their problem is, because I've never found it particularly confusing.

Basically, if you're after a weird, stylish, supernatural comedy with a very (very) light romantic subplot and beautiful visuals, Haruhi is an excellent choice. If you want LOLZ BOOBIES and immediate resolution (because I know at least a few people who watched this series expecting just that), um, try something else.

You lie, you LIE!!!

In any case, the anime is very unique and definately worthy of watching. Also, it actually does have a lot of BOOBIES action courtesy of Haruhi molesting poor ole Asahina. Anyways, you'll enjoy yourself with this one.

Lol,it's not like the serie is full of ecchiness, heck Haruhi barely touched Mikuru in the last few episodes.

Hmm ok, I just watched the first two eps. The first one seemed more like a prequel leading to the now Mature Kyon, I can say that Haruhi is off her rocker but she's awesome in her own unique way and I respect and relate and agree with her for alot of things. One thing though, she took Asahina into her club just to use her? It seems like she is just using her ditzyness to manipulate people and use her for silly mascot uses, considering her ridiculous assets. But her doing this just shows she does indeed have no interest in humans and has reason behind her methods.

Heard a lot of positive things being said about this series and recommended to me by a friend, that and the series recently finished so I decided to give it a whirl.

... HARK it's the best thing I've seen this year.

Just finished episode eight and I'm loving it! Sure it's nonsensical order of airing the episodes does take a toll on your head, struggling to come to grasps with what's been happening but it just makes the experience that much better.

Totally dig the opening for the Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan(Nintendo DS game) look of Haruhi's and the closing the fantastic para para dance sequence.

Also episode eight had another Nintendo DS game reference being Haruhi doing the Phoenix Wright finger point thing. Oh that definitely made my day.

I'm really doubting any other series this year will top this ... well maybe Welcome to NHK.

Yes, this was a strange yet great show. I usually don't even bother with this type of anime, but animation quality and the inside jokes ("lunach the Gundam)" reallly made this show fun to watch.

Crammed the last few episodes in just then today. Oh I wish this series didn't have to end

"Final episode" (which is actually episode 6 in chronological order) was certainly something and a great way to end the series, but in chronological order then episode 9 the heater episode would actually be the real ending to the series and well that just doesn't have the same climatic wow factor as the closed space thing. And actually if you do piece the series in chronological order it feels like that closed space ordeal really didn't change much or do anything to Haruhi and Kyon's relationship, you would think there would be something in the air after you realise how important Kyon is to Haruhi, oh well could be just me but I wanted to see some sort of development between the two. None the less this series was a blast!
