I couldn't bother myself to see past the first episode, so I just watched the last three episodes and skimmed through all of the other eps. Personally, it didn't fell so much as a mindjob as Excel Saga was, at least to me.

It's unique. I like it. Easily in the top 10 percent of shows ever made.

This show absolutely kicks ass. If you made it fight a t-rex, it would probably win.

Haven't finished the series yet, but I found this bit of news to be interesting:

Suzumiya Haruhi Garage Kit Sells For $3,000
Livedoor News has reported that a limited edition assembled and painted garage kit of Suzumiya Haruhi originally sold for 15,000 yen ($129) recently sold on Yahoo Auctions for 340,000 yen ($2,931). Additional images of the completed model created by BUBBA & Saikorokyarameru.

It's the very last picture that Maguamaru has in his post. Just wow!! Didn't realize that Haruhi was this popular!!

Eee~ I just started watching this last week sometime. I'm up to episode four...

Poor Asahina. The only thing i don't like is the molesting... thing. It really bothers me for some reason. Evidently not enough to make me stop watching, though.

Egh, i feel like i'm going to become a Kyoto Animation fangirl or something. The last anime i watched was AIR TV, now Haruhi, next will probably be Kanon... Auu.

I am the only one not disturbed by how those pictures are still up? It's been almost a month too.

I thought this site need to be a pretty clean place since we have some 11-14 year old children on here. Just my 2 cents.

There's gonna be a season 2?

P.S. Okay, just found out the news on animenewsnetwork. Can't say that I'm surprised since this show is HUGELY popular. It's almost on borderline ridiculous. Almost "Evangelion" popular.

It's nearly as popular as Code Geass in Japan though once Geass last volume goes on sale it should push it quite above Haruhi.

Check post #5 and beyond to see dvd sales for each series

http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=40506

From 2002 and up

Gundam SEED Destiny - 68,729
Gundam SEED - 58,205
Code Geass - 45,123
Haruhi - 41,039
Full Metal Alchemist - 36,519

10k avg is considered a great sucess (Kiddy Grade getting a sequel after avg 5k) so these 5 are the mega series of Japan for this decade. I must say I was suprised at FMP sales when I looked through that list.

God Damn!! I didn't realize that Gundam SEED Destiny had THAT many sales! Especially the fact that alot of people didn't like Gundam SEED Destiny. Well, the numbers don't lie. I'm somewhat suprised to see Full Metal Alchemist low being that it's such a quality series. Still not bad by any means.

Well, with the second season announcement coming on the way, I can only imagine how much higher the Haruhi franchise will rise.
