Now and Then, Here and There

Hey I thought this was a good series. The animation was good and the characters were well developed. So if any of you have any comments on it please leave them here.

I saw this series only a month or so ago. I knew nowt about before buying & the only reason I even picked up the title was that it was really cheap (cost me just over US$25). I thought the chara designs were simplistic & child-like, but this is in no way representitive of the show itself. The storyline is hard-hitting from the start; it is extremely depressing, there is no comedy, no light relief, just a pulls-no-punches war story that is amazingly well told. It is a sad & horrifying tale, that deals with themes that made me feel physically sick at times.

An awesome & thought-provoking anime, the story-telling is great, building up the tension episode after episode. Well worth watching IMO, but I don't think I'll be re-visiting that series anytime soon, coz like Saikano, there is only so much depression-inducing sadness that I can take in my anime.

Here, here. I bought it much under the same circumstances years ago. I've only watched it once, though I want to watch it again it'll take some planning and emotional preparation. . . .
