Scrapped Princess

Scrapped Princess doesn't get its own page?

I rented the first DVD and found it interesting. Episodes 1-3 were kind of light-hearted, which I did not expect. The storyline involves 15-year-old Pacifica, a princess adopted by a commoner family after she was almost killed by her own people. There is a prophecy that when she reaches 16 she will bring about the destruction of the world, so it seems several people want her dead -- while her older adopted brother and sister protect her. Episode 4 was kind of dark, and I hope is a sign of things to come.

I thought it odd that the characters were given western names -- even in the original Japanese version.

Anyway, I am renting the next DVD and if it proves interesting, the rest of the series.

If you have any spoilers, don't respond!

Well they wanted to give it a more european medieval feel. Also they succeeded,I loved this serie.Raquel Casull is by far my favorite character, sort of a cross between Lina Inverse and Belldandy

Not a bad series. It's enjoyable. I kind of feel sorry for Leo. But watch out for Mr. Soupy (I think that's the name). He has some funny parts.

I finally finished the series. In all, it is pretty good, although around episode 18 things started to drag. But the last two episodes made up for it. You kind of get the idea around episode 12 how things will turn out, but there are still plenty of plot twists and cliffhangers to keep you interested. It is not as dark as I expected, but it still is a pretty good series.

It is interesting how some of the characters resemble characters from other anime shows. Raquel looks a lot like Misato from Neon Genesis Evangelion. And if you cut Shannon's hair and dye it green, he looks like Spike from Cowboy Bebop!
