37 episodes seems sort of short if they plan to cover the whole manga, unless they only plan to do the first half which I don't mind, seeing as I found the later half to be mediocre.

First episode is out via fansubs at the usual places.

My my, I'm impressed.

The scene around the 19 minute mark where Light is going at it with the Death Note is brilliant. I can't stress enough how awesome that scene was, overly dramatic indeed.

If the series keeps it up .., boy it's hard to decide wether I prefer the anime or the manga counterpart now.

I watched the first Episode of Death Note as well. There were fansubs, some of the subs were kind of off with the voices, but it was still good. Judging by the first episode though it looks like it's going to keep getting more intense and better.

JUST watched the first episode. Outstanding! I loved every minute of it!! Especially when Light went crazy with the Death Note! The only thing for me is that it's going to be hard watching it, especially if they are following the manga. Also, I hope they don't go past the first half the manga.

A question for everyone.....what would you do if you had the Death Note in your possession? Whom would you kill first? Would you kill anybody? Would you leave the book alone? I was thinking about this for a little bit. Granted, it's not real, but more or less a what if scenario.

Well if you told on the internet who you wanted to kill...you might get into trouble if someone like an officer happened to look on here, especially if the person you wanted dead saw and new who you were, so no one wants to take a chance I guess

Well,if such a thing as a Death Note existed,I"m sure George Bush wouldn't have long to live since pretty much everyone hates him now.

Just watched episode 5.....This anime is ----!ng awsome!! It's as if I'm loving Death Note all over again. Just watching Light manipulate things to his liking, just like a God! It's strange, I know what will happen eventually since I've read the manga (although there maybe a few surprises here or there) but each week I'm hooked to see what will Light do next. Can't say enough about the anime. The characters, the music, atmosphere...I'm just loving every minute of it right now.

A question though, would you go through 4-6 years of highschool another 4 year of college and then 4 to 6 years of training as an FBI agent just to be someone's housekeeper? And I'm not even counting the amount of money that had been wasted in those years.

Just watched episodes 6 and 7. Both episodes kept true to the manga. This anime is just too awsome right now. What more can I say about Light? He's definately wolf in sheep clothing.

True, I haven't seen much differences between the Manga and Anime.

They have great material to go with, there really is no need to change, adapt or alter (or god forbid add fillers) anything from the original source material (the manga).

EDIT: Last few minutes of episode 7 = brilliant

Yeah, the ending of episode 7 was great! I don't get scared easy, but that scene actually gave me chills.

Light should've been named Dark!
