Claymore!

Yep! It has finally arrived! One of the most talk about series is now out and ready to be watched. I couldn't help but come into the first episode comparing this to Berserk as I've heard them being compared to one another. The first episode definately didn't disappoint. Lots of blood and violence to go around. Clare definately has a dark and menacing presence about her. She doesn't hesitate to slash and destroy the the Yoma. The big mystery with the Yoma is where do they come from and who is the ring leader? We'll probably be in the dark with that for awhile.

The animation itself was superb! Definately loved the visual feel and aura that the anime presented. It gave off that dark and gloomy atmosphere, while yet still looking amazing. Overall, I definately like the first episode. I can't compare it to Berserk yet as there still ways to go before it reaches that level. However, if the first episode is of any indication of what's to come, then we're in for a wild ride!

I've got it sitting there, just need to find the time to watch it however I've given it a quick skim through and I've picked up the jist of things. It looks like a pretty decent monster demon hack and/or slash fantasy series with pretty animation and action scenes to boot, please how cool was it when she yanked that arm out of her stomach hah.

Finished watching episode 2. Watching this episode leaves me wondering just how long this series will last considering the fact that everytime Clare uses her powers she becomes closer and closer to turning into a Yoma. It's quite an ironic situation as the Claymores have to kill the enemy while possessing the same blood as them. I have to wonder what are they exactly getting out of this? Also, wouldn't it be quicker just to attack the leader of the Yoma, thus eliminating all the threats? This episode definately poses alot of questions which I won't expect to be answered very quickly. Seems like the only one benefiting is the organization.

Well, the organization is a business, and you find out later why they don't head for the big shots.

Just finished episode 3. Lots of blood shed this episode. Also, it was strange watching Clare act a bit out of character. You can tell that she's having trouble trying to act human since she has Yoma blood inside her. Another thing was when she saved the two soldiers from the Yoma monster several times, considering the fact that they were trying to kill her. Definately slowed her down and as a result, she finds herself in a rather deadily situation. I think the vorvacious eater is definately Father Vincent, since he's the one whom summoned her here. I wonder how Clare will get out of this situation...

P.S. One more thing I wanted to comment on. I definately like the music! Especially the OP. Matches the atmosphere of the anime perfectly!

I'm really enjoying this series. It's following the manga quite closely, but the manga pages can't convey the kinetic energy of the monster-slaying like the anime can. I'm looking forward to more blood-letting.

I know what you mean ... its obvious that the two mediums have their advantages, which often keep me vacillating between the two in terms of
greater information or the sheer dynamics of color and movement.

I hope that one day soon, cg graphics technology will enable the cost reduction (and quality) to promote longer and more intricate series that do not have a big a chain to costing factors as the deciding force behind the scope of the anime.

Okay! Just finished episode 4. Very blood spilling, yet emotional episode. I was quite surprised too. I didn't think that the Yoma would be...

Spoiler:
A corpse!

Also, the fact that Clare was able to surpress the Yoki from completely consuming her. Just how long she can keep that up, I wonder. I almost shed some tears when Ruki was trying to talk Clare out of killing herself. Definately a very touching scene as we see truly how much he cares for her. The action this episode was totally awsome!! The Yoma aren't pushovers nor are they complete idiots. There is some intelligence to them, which is surprising. Can't wait to find out whom the ring-leader is.

Episode 5 looks to be more interesting as we're going to see more Claymores in action! Can't wait!

We should see Tereasa of the Faint Smile in five I assume. I'm really impressed at how closely they are following the manga.
