Here's a colour test on my character Miki ... @_@ Markers and pencils. Her hair is darker than this -- however, I need a darker marker (ooh, that rhymed...)for it. ><;; I do NOT like the skin tone or the shading or the clothes. Yuk yuk yuk. The hair is the main focus. And I didn't fancy up her eyes like I wanted -- duuhh, stupid michan...
Please review ... this was more for colours than for the actual drawing... ^^;;
... I think she looks a bit like Asuka. That's not good. o.o;;;
This was a quick job (I was done in about 40 minutes with the whole darn thing) and this goes to show you, kiddies, that bad things happen when you don't take your time... x.x;;;;;;;;;;; Michan baka~...

Wow... that looks really nice to me... btw do you CG your work... or work primarily with traditional medium?
... as for looking like Asuka... your character has a broader face and a "warmer disposition" in terms of subtle body language cues... I think, your rendition is more naturalized in terms of anatomy than the "waif model" designs used in NGE... keep up the excellent (and fast) work...

Yes! I do a little CG (though I wish wish wish I had a tablet... I'm saving up to get a good one...) and you can see some on my site... *digs up a link to a decent few*

but that's VERY plain, I think ><;; the colours are all too warm, I should've made his eyes a darker blue... I don't think the colours are balanced at all...

a fairly older one, but still decent (the pose is too stiff, like the one above... grr) and... the white clothing ... is just bad... *hides her head in shame*

I try to get a 'painted' effect nowadays with my CGs (which are rare and far between, for my mouse hates me, my right hand hates me, and my pocket hates me, because I can't get a tablet ... I won't whine anymore, promise)... but that's hard, yet... like I said I try. ^^;;

She looks great - i've admired her since the sketches. I liked them a bit better.
The asuka thing comes from the hair, espec the fringe.

ummm i just had deja vu. is this an old thread or did you and samIam have that same exact conversation somewhere else?
ok anyway the pic is excellent, but i almost have to say i like your stuff in a rawer form, to me the color looks like chalk or something.
and as long as you dont put her hair down she wont look like asuka. i am really enjoying your work

*coughcough* Eheh. . . well, not much I can really say (like anyone cares what I've got to say ^^ ) 'bout the picture. . . 'cept that it looks great, definately not like Asuka. . . actually, it reminds me of . . . Rail's assistant, wha's-her-name. . . from Lost Universe. . But that's probably 'cause I just got done havin' a super-mini marathon of the series **
Anyways. . . I think. . the coloring looks really great. The dark-blue looks like watercolor, which I like. . . an' I really like the varying shades used for the hair, an' skin also.
Well. . . not much else I can say, 'cept that you're a great artist, an' I wish I could color (an' draw) that well. . an' also that quickly. Oh, an' quite honestly, of the Miki pics you've posted so far, I liked the first one th' most, heheh ^^;;

she looks like asuka... to tell you the truth, that doesn't look anything like markers or pencils... blink blink* by any chance are you great with pastels? the way you handled it looks like you're an expert on pastels... i'd definitely love to see more work from you. ^_^
do you have any full body or half body drawings that you can show around?
