If the Ruronin Kenshin OVA of the "Memories" Arc is ANY indication of how the "Revenge" Arc of the Ruronin Kenshin continuity is going to be handled onscreen. Then GODDAMMIT DON'T EVEN ANIMATE IT!!

The "Memories" OVA was so REALISTIC in its COMPLETE AND UTTER ADHERENCE TO THE LAWS OF PHYSICS that it might as well have been a LIVE ACTION FILM.

Whereas the "Revenge" Arc boasts some of the most physically improbable villains and the most outragesouly awesome action that would make Yuen Woo Ping's (Fight Director of "The Matrix") jaw drop.

How in the name of HELL are the self righteous directors of the dull OVA going to handle:

1) The complete foolproof nature of the Kaoru corpse doll?

2) Mr "Cannon-Hand's" ability to operate his cybernetic equipment?

3) Mr "Venom" Look Alike's Extended Limbs?

4) Yukishiro Enishi's Enlarged Nerves and his ability to double leap in the air?

5) The technological levels required for the "Iwanbo 3" cyborg war machine existing in the MEIJI era?

Or (God Forbid)

6) The fact that little 14 year old Enishi managed to learn, nay, MASTER A SHAOLIN KUNG FU STYLE ALL ON HIS OWN WITHOUT A PRACTICE PARTNER OR A TEACHER.

I shudder at the fact that this arc is going to be animated. NOT becasuse I hate the story (FAR from it), but because of fears that it will receive a HORRENDOUSLY REALISTIC treatment from the OVA directors.

I say keep it a TV series so that it can be a cinematic martial arts climax to one of the best romatic comedy-action sereis ever written.

the ova was just only a bit of the revenge arc, it only told the story of tomoe and kenshin, the manga has all the improbably characters so and in the flash back in the manga i don;t think there was people with cannon arms or cyborgs either

If they do animate the Revenge arc (Which I still hope they do) they'll probably make it into an OVA since the makers of the TV series said they wouldn't put it into the tv series. It'll probably be an OVA with the animation and style of the original, but they'll probably put in more blood since it's not a TV series. It would probably have to be longer than 4 half-hour OVAs, though.

if they di make an ova out of the WHOLE revenge arc i think that some of the animation SHOULD be done in the style of the tv series.

i however, like the kenshin OVA as it is right now

If they did make an ova out of the revenge arc, I'm pretty sure they'd skip over the flashback to the tomoe story. They'd probably just refer back to it and/or show a few short clips (directly from the original ova). I think that for pretty much all of the revenge arc it should be animated in the style of the tv series, since it takes place during/after the tv series.

they probably won't, but it doesn't set the atmosphere well for the revenge arc if it doesn't have a quick flash back of the event in kyoto

I never liked the Revenge arc story cos there are so many contradictions to it like Mr. Canon arm, Enishi's shades,(sun glasses) the big robot puppet. I also dont like Enishi's right hand man the one who uses magnets coz compared to soujiro the righthand man position in the revenge arc looks pathethic.
